We have a client looking to hire an experienced Engineering Project Manager for their medical manufacturing company.   

 

The Location:  The position will be located in Sylmar, CA and reports to the Director of Manufacturing.

 

The Position: 

The primary objective of this position is to develop manufacturing process improvements, fixtures and other improvements that drive cycle time reductions, cost improvements and ensure agreement to all customers’ specifications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working in conjunction with quality department, draft validation plans and protocols for all new business, and lead the execution of validations in a timely manner and to budget
  • Assist in managing new programs in accordance with the company’s QOP.
  • Develop formal project plans and successfully lead and execute those projects.
  • Perform product engineering development and product support activities as needed, in a team environment with Quality, Customer Service, Purchasing, Sales, Production and others.
  • Drive FMEA and DFMEA projects.
  • Collect and analyze statistical data from various aspects of the manufacturing process
  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and technical drawings
  • Develop and implement procedures to ensure delivery of products that meet customer specifications.
  • Identify, design, prove ROI and implement automation where applicable in a manufacturing environment.

 

Requirements: 

  • Engineering degree and
  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent communications and teamwork skills
  • LEAN manufacturing skills
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
  • Excellent math and statistics skills
  • Excellent CAD/SolidWorks Modeling skills
  • Validation (IQ, OQ, PQ) or PPAP experience
  • PMP Certification strongly preferred
