We have a client in the medical device manufacturing industry looking for a Business Development Manager who can manage and maximize cash flow, profitability and other financial targets for the North American business.  This will be achieved by directly overseeing market management, supply/demand planning, and interface with other departments to drive sales and operational discipline. Your goal will be to improve market share within the medical contract manufacturing industry and add to the company’s profitability.

 

External factors:

The Business Development Manager role requires understanding of the contract medical device manufacturing industry and competitive markets.  These contracts involve a long sales cycle and require persistence, determination and faithful commitment.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver Sales and Marketing functions for the North American medical device contract manufacturing industry. Utilize and develop business modeling and analytical skills to support value based decisions.  Shape the team’s culture around a strong performance and customer focus.  This includes delivery of sales & marketing excellence capability; communicating/creating a compelling vision and work environment; and fostering alignment with the Business Services function.

 

  1. Develop and implement strategic and tactical marketing and revenue growth plans. Develop and implement product line sales/contracting strategies for all product lines (Device Assembly, Machining, Injection Molding and Thermoforming).  Ensure alignment and integration with the business management and customer service function including domestic and import/export capabilities.

 

  1. Drive customer satisfaction and growth. Ensure customer account profitability and maximize value to the business.  Manage relationships with key customers up to CEO/Director levels.  Execute, and modify as needed, strategic contracts with clients to provide maximum value.

 

  1. Identify and assist in the development of new business opportunities with particular emphasis on co-product markets. Anticipate, appreciate, and respond to market and customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated 5+ years of successful contract medical manufacturing sales experience
  • Polished communications with executive level professionals
  • Technical to the extent of effectively communicating with the engineering team regarding custom production
  • Must be a US citizen or green card holder to be considererd for this position

Location:  Preference for residence in the San Diego market.  For a proven sales professional, relocation allowance may be provided.

Compensation:  Generous base salary plus commission structure, bonus potential and full benefits.
