JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Our client, a manufacturing company, is seeking a qualified and experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. The candidate will be a degreed professional with 8+ years accounting/finance experience in the manufacturing industry.

 

The Company: This is a very well established international company with Mobile being the North American presence. The Mobile site will be the setting for this position, and there is only very occasional travel.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the accounting functions for the Mobile, AL business unit. Duties include monthly closings (2 day closing period), account analysis (preparing all Balance Sheet account reconciliations with supporting documentation), preparing the annual plan and monthly forecasting along with reviewing and analyzing capital investments from each division.

  • Preparation of forecasts and annual plans in compliance with corporate guidelines.

  • Develops and coordinates necessary accounting and statistical data for all departments.

  • Review all required journal entries to record monthly activities.

  • Review of balance sheet account reconciliations, report discrepancies, resolves problems.

  • Maintain and compile Hyperion database files in compliance with GAAP and all corporate policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for oversight of standard cost systems and standard cost revisions.

  • Analysis and preparation of reports regarding monthly results, quarterly management analysis, major sales proposals.

  • Assist in leadership of annual physical inventory.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: The selected candidate will manage two or more degreed accountants.

Educational Requirements: Four year degree from accredited university with emphasis in accounting and business.

 

Experience:

• Minimum of eight years in similar position with an industrial employer.

• This position requires a self motivated individual who is eager to learn and improve the operations.

• Intermediate level experience with Excel, JD Edwards, and Hyperion a plus.

• CPA, MBA, CMA a plus but not required.

 

Travel: Negligible

The candidate will be a degreed professional with 4+ years accounting/finance experience (preferably within the wholesale liquor distribution trade). The position will be located in Las Colinas, Texas.

The Las Colinas site will be the U.S. headquarters for Sales, Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Logistics roles. The product will not be stored on-premise therefore the office will be an executive setting in Las Colinas with less than 10 employees on site. Responsibilities:

  • Handle accounting-related functions including bank reconciliations, A/R, A/P, collections, payroll, inventory reconciliation
  • Input bills on a daily basis
  • Book necessary payroll journal entries
  • Ensure that invoices are issued accurately and in a timely manner
  • Process and track all sales and purchase orders
  • Monitor and collect from delinquent A/R
